Sentris® Security Paradigm

Sentris® is unique in its capability to control access to data based on three criteria:

• Who is accessing the information (user security accesses)?
• Where is the information being accessed from (facility clearances)?
• What system is the information being accessed from (network accreditations)?

This is referred to as the Sentris® Security Paradigm.

For example, a user authorized for BRAVO and CHARLIE logs on to a network with ALPHA, BRAVO, and CHARLIE accesses from a facility cleared to ALPHA and BRAVO.  The resulting commonality between all three is BRAVO.  The user will be limited to BRAVO information when logged in at this particular facility on the network.  Sentris® will also filter any CHARLIE information from the user until he/she moves to a facility that also has CHARLIE assigned as an access.

NOTE: If a user has saved a Sentris-marked file to their local machine and/or network share and later loses access to all of the markings on the file, Sentris® cannot prevent/block the file from being opened; however, the file cannot be reclassified.  This also applies when the location’s accesses are downgraded.
